From X4X

Overview

All plugins are located at our cvs in module X4XPlugins, check Projectpage for cvs infos. You can build all plugins by just typing ant or a special plugin by typing e.g. ant X4XBrain.jar. Some plugins need external things present, otherwise a huge bunch of errors will pop up ;). Note: Not all plugins will work atm with 0.3-rc*, I'm working on that but I'm not sure if anybody besides me is using the plugins, so ... ;)

X4X File - Output plugin

This plugin is able to export the playlist to some file which is completely customizable. Standard is some html file displaying every title you selected first. This plugin doesn't depend on external libs which are not shipped with the plugin.

X4X IRC - UI plugin

A feature-less IRC client plugin for X4X. It connects you directly to #x4x on freenode, but has no extended features etc. Just useful if you need some quick help. This plugin doesn't depend on external libs which are not shipped with the plugin.

X4X OSD - UI Plugin

An OSD (on screen display) plugin for X4X. It uses xosd so be sure libxosd is available. It will print out volume and playlistposition changes. Colors can be configured.

X4X Nomad - Output plugin

That plugin is only useful if you own a Nomad Jukebox (e.g. Zen Micro!). It can transfer titles from your playlist to the Nomad Jukebox, even networkfiles are supported. The transfer is done via libnjb and a quick hacked java wrapper around it (done again with swig). Therefor this plugin depends on swig and libnjb.

X4X Brain - UI plugin (renamed to X4XCovers in cvs)

A plugin which, once finished, should display a bigger set of information on a title. Atm it only displays album art (see use of xmms2covers) in a small label in the buttonbar which shows some bigger view when clicking on it. This plugin doesn't depend on external libs which are not shipped with the plugin.

X4X Pod - Output plugin

That plugin is similar to X4X Nomad but for apple ipods. It is not working atm.

X4X Rand - other plugin

X4X Rand is similar to xmms2randomizer. It takes a given amount of random selected titles from the medialib and puts them into the playlist which is cleared before that. Then random playback is enabled and n titles are played until it does the job again. This plugin doesn't depend on external libs which are not shipped with the plugin.

X4X Strands - UI plugin to display infos from http://www.mystrands.com

X4X Strands queries http://www.mystrands.com for infos on artist/album, fetches coverart (which is also set in case of xmms2) and displays all infos together with some recommendations. You need a mystrands-id to use this service.

Hey, any lyrics plugins in development? Shall i contribute my time?

Georg: Contributions are always nice and a lyrics plugin sounds good to me, didn't think of it yet. Sorry that i missed that entry so long, next time please jump into #x4x at freenode or contact the mailinglists.

btw, the discussionpage should now be editable.
