Development of X4X will be stopped. There won't be any new versions, you can use x4x as long as mpd doesn't change its API, xmms2 already changed its api so it won't work with their latest develcode. For a longer explanation check http://xwidgets.blogspot.com/2007/08/thoughts-about-stopping-development.html .
Best regards
Georg Schild.

I decided to push 0.3.5 since 0.3.4 and earlier had those annoying buildsystem bugs. Also hopefully some backendhotplug problems were solved although there can be sporadic hangs, not sure why.

The installation target in 0.3.4 has still a bug which will for sure be fixed in 0.3.5. Atm you get an "Xwidgets not found"-error when you try to start x4x and you installed via x4x-xwidgets-bin. If that's the case please copy libs/Xwidgets.jar manually to /usr/local/X4X/libs and things should be fine for now.

The really last action for today (today ends in some minutes ;)): Set up an archive with precompiled plugins. X4XFile, X4XIRC and X4XBrain should work out of the box, X4XNomad requires libnjb and X4XOSD requires xosd to be installed. If those aren't there the plugins just don't initialize but the rest will work fine.

0.3.2 and 0.3.3 have a serious bug in the buildprocess. Both create a start-script which contains wrong entries for XWidgets, they look like libs/Xwidgets.jar/Xwidgets.jar which is obviously wrong. Therefor i released 0.3.4 today which fixes this bug. Besides that you shouldn't run ant followed by ant install when you use x4x-xwidgets-bin-*.tar.bz2 but only ant install. Else Xwidgets.jar will not get copied to its expected destination and startup will also fail. To solve that you can simply copy any Xwidgets.jar to /usr/local/X4X/libs in case you used the x4x-xwidgets-bin package and fixed your startscript or used x4x-0.3.4 :).

0.3.3 is out and finally X4X runs on Windows and due to some changes in XWidgets also with Java5. The other usual fixes were also done ;). For Windowsusers: There's x4x-win32-full.zip on the sourceforge-downloadpage. Just unpack it and run x4x.exe.
